HUNTLY PLUNKET SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING. . j The annual meeting of the Huntly 1 Branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Rest Room on Monday, April 20th, Mr. K. S. Caldwell presiding. After the balance sheet and reports were read a vote of thanks \.as passed to the retiring officers, and the following officers and committee ' were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mrs. T. Broeklebank; vicepresident, Mrs. P. Crimmins; secretary, Mrs. A. Pascoe; treasurer, Mrs. E. V. Daldy; asst, treasurer, Miss A. Ward; committee, Mesdames George, .Caldwell, Low, Bright, Mackay, W. Davies, T. Gardner, Voltz, Misses Hil- , “itch and V. Burden; advisory board, | Messrs. Jv. S. Caldwell, F. Harris, W. t . E. George, and Drs. D. Mackay and D. C. Macdiarmid; auditor, Mr. J. Porteous. Glen Afton was represented by Mesdames Thomas, Molony, Cairns and Troughear. The attendance at the meeting was better than last year, but only two mothers were piesdnt, out of all mothers who visit the rooms regularly every week. Some 75 personal invitations were sent to them, yet only two came to the annual fneeting. Last year, 2,951 mothers and babies visited the Plunket Room, an increase of 818, as compared with last year’s 2,133. There were 51 new cases. Two street stalls and a sale of work were held during the year, resulting in £55 10s being placed to our credit but as we had extra expenditure our financial position is not as strong as we would like. Our thanks are due to the Huntly Borough Council for the donation of £5; to Mr. and Mrs. Knapper for the donation of a beautiful big Easter egg; also to Mr. and Mrs. Kosoof for displaying the egg and advertising our work. Our thanks are also due to Mr. J. Porteous, our auditor, and to all others who have helped in any way during the past financial year. During the year a sub-committee was formed at Glen Afton, with a good membership and the attendance at the rooms is good. Mrs Thomas gave an excellent report of the good work that has been done in the short time the sub-committee has been formed. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. K. S. Caldwell for his services as chairman. The following is a statement of Receipts and Expenditure of the Huntly Branch of the Plunket Society for the year ending 31st March, 1931: RECEIPTS.
