AUTUMN SHOW

BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY. Keen competition in chrysanthemums was displayed at the Autumn Show held under the auspices of the Horticultural Society in the Town Hall on Thursday last. All the exhibitors were local growers, and the judge, Mr. J. Bateson, of Hamilton, commended them on the high standard of the blooms shown. There was also a good showing of dahlias and cut flowers. The Champion Chyrsanthemum bloom (J. S. Lloyd) was awarded to Mr. H. Bond, and the champion dahlia to Mr. F. Meek. The judges were:—Mr. J. Batesofi, chrysanthemums and cut flowers; Mr. J. Hedley, fruit and vegetables; Mesdames E. George and F. Meek, preserves. Following are the winners of the points’ prizes:— Harris’ Cup for the highest aggregate points for the season, W.
