PRESENTATIONS.

Prior to bis departure for Paeroa, Mr F. K. Hyde, who has been postmaster at Hui tly for the past six years, was made the recipient of a 4;0-day clock ly the staff of the local post office. Mr H. F. Adams, in making the presentation, spoke in eulogistic terms of the qualities of Mr Hyde and of the esteem in which he was held by the staff, and expressed their regret at losing such a sterling controlling officer, who at all times had the interest and welfare of the staff at heart. Mr F. J. Z. Harris, on behalf of the line staff, endorsed the remarks of the previous spasker. Mr Hyde, in replying, thanked the staff for the handsome pres - nl and expressed his sincere regnt at having to leave this district and his appreciition for the loyal support and c > operation the staff had accorded him during his soj )ur!i in Huntly. The staff then bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Hyde and wished them succ?ss and happiness in their future abode.

Mr and Mrs F. K. Hyde were guests of honour at a card evening at the residence of Mr F. Liitleproud, on Monday evening last. There was a gathering of friends, who hid them farewell on the eve of their departure for Paero i.

Mr F. K. Hyde was the recipient of a handsome travelling rug, from the Huntly District School Committ '-e. The presentation was made by Mr G. Smith (chairman) on Monday last.

The Jluntly bowlers turned out in good numbers. on Saturday last, the occasion being to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Hyde. Mr. Hyde has been postmaster at Huntly for nearly six years, but has now been transferred to Paeroa. The president, Mr. J. Turton, in making the presentation on behalf of the bowlers, of a silver water jug to Mrs. Hyde, and a leather bowling bag to Mr Hyde, said that white very much regretting the loss of two good sports, they wished them every success and happiness in their new home. Mr. Hyde suitably replied on behalf of himself and Mrs Hyde, after which the company sang "For they are jolly good fellows,” and gave three hearty cheers.
