TAUPIRI DAIRY FACTORY. Mr. R. Loyland, of Huntly, is at present boring for water at the Taupiri butter factory. A plentiful supply of water has already been reached at the depth of 114 feet. From this source water was pumped continuously for six hours at the rale of fifteen hundred gallons an hour. It was then found that the water on the pipe had fallen only two feet, its level being only twelve feet from the surface of the ground. A s 'cond bore was made about a chain or so away from the first. Here, however, a depth of over two hundred and sixty feet was reached, when blue metal was found, probabiy a spur from the mountain. Now the third bore is being male much nearer to the first bore. It is anticipated that these two b res will give a regular supply of about 3,000 gallons per hour. At present the factory secures water in good supply by means of a pipe running across the school playground to the Waikato River. The water being obtained now on the Company’s own property is to he chit fly for washing butter, e'.c. The Company is fortunate in finding such a plentiful supply of excellent water, for the purpose required, at such a convenient depth and place. TAUPIRI HOTEL.
