TO HELP THE LAME DOG

HAMILTON ORGANISATION A meeting to consider the formation of a society to help those coming before the courts, and others in need of help, and also the appointment of a court missioner, was held n Hamilton on Monday evening. There was a large attendance, includicpresentatives of the churches, the Howard League, the Labour Party and friendly societies. The Rev. Percy Paris presided. The meeting was addressed by the Rev. Jasper Calder, Auckland City Missioner, who explained the methods under which probationers and other delinquents were cared for ir. Auck land. Dr. 11. Barraclough, of Auckland, and Mr. J. A. Young, M.P. for Hamilton also spoke. The meeting was unanimously of the opinion that a central organisa ion should be set up with a view to appointing a missioner in Hamilton. A committee consisting of Mesdames Edith English, Hughson and Lewis, and the Revs. P. Harris, L. M. Rogers, and H. E. Jones, Captain Dick, and Messrs. A. E. Manning, W. 11. Johnston and J. Beagley, was elected to discuss ways and means and report to a general meeting next week.
