The Weather

A telegram from Wanganui says that the rivers are in flood there in consequence of the warm rains melting the snows on Mount Egmont. Fears are expxessed that the warm rains which have fallen recently ,i n the Waikato may have a similar effect on the snows on the mountains at the source of the Waikato, and that floods will occur here also. The heavy rains of late have caused the water in the river to be very dirty, and so have interfered considerably with the trout fishing. Ardent fishermen, are not to be denied, and those who have persevered have been well rewarded.
