Presbyterian Social.

A pleasant social in connection with thsFresbyt.rian Church was held last night in the Masonic Hall. Although the weather was somewhat threatening, a large gathering assembled, and the evening was a very pleasant one. The musical part of the programme was remarkably good, and the singers were recalled on several occasions, and, in most instances, responded. From the opening overture or. the piano to the National Anthem all went well. Before the conclusion of the musical part of the programme which consisted of a high and educattionury nature, piano and violin duets, and a recitation, the chairman expressed the thanks of all present to those who had taken part. After the usual cup of tea, games and competitions were the order, and the competitions, especially, produced considerable excitement and amusement. The games were continued till nearly twelve o’clock, the younger people expressing regret that the evening was so short.
