SEVENTEENTH ANNIVERSARY. The seventeenth anniversary of the Methodist Church was celebrated on Sunday and Monday last. Owing to renovations to the church being carried on, the various functions took place in the supper room of the Miners’ Union Hall, which proved in every way suitable. On Sunday, Divine Service was conducted at 11 and 7 by the Rev. T. Trestrail, who in a masti-riy manner which will not soon be forgotten by his hearers, dealt with his two subjects “ The Miracle of the Leaves and Fishes ” and “ The Lord’s Prayer.” Anthems were rendered by the Choir under the conductorship of Mr Broadbent and two solo 3 were given by Mr Norman of Hamilton, in his usual finished style. On Monday a Tea Meeting was held at 6 p m. after which his popular lecture entitled “ Life on the Coolgardie Goldfields ” was given by the Rev. Trestrail. For fully two hours the speaker held his listeners spell bound as he recounted the early efforts of the ‘ Sky-Pilot” on these vast fields. The chair was occupied by Rev. W. A. Watson, who thanked all who had in any way assisted to make the Anniversary a success, and especially thanked Mr Fraser who is lending free of charge his tackle for moving the church.
