FORECAST AT NOON. (Per Press Association—Copyright). WELLINGTON September 17. General situation: The recent depression is located near Chatham Island, while an anticyclone covers the north Tasman Sea. The forecast is for rather variable winds, but moderate southwesterlies predominating. A shower or two in the south, weather otherwise fair and cool, seas slight to moderate. SHIPPING NOTES. The Ivakapo is ‘expected to leave Auckland to-morrow with cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika and is due at Greymouth on Saturday morning to load for return via Westport. The Gabriella cannot be despatched from Greymouth before to-morrow for Miramar and Wellington. The Pukeko is due at Greymouth tomorrow from Wellington to load coal for return. The Poolta. is loading coal at Greymouth for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. The Kiwitejy was expected to leave Greymouth last night for Wellington, coal laden. The m.v. Gael has been delayed by rain and is now timed to leave Wellington, for Hokitika, to-morrow.
