A REMAND

ON FATAL FALL CHARGE. (Per Press Association —Copyright). WELLINGTON, May 20, A charge of assault so as cause actual bodily harm, made against Thomson Yandall, aged 37, a carpenter, in the Magistrate’s Court today, will be increased to one of manslaughter, said Detective-Sergeant Doyle in securing a remand until May 29, when he said the Magistrate who was acting as Coroner, would be able to hear an indictable charge against Yandall, and the inquest on Keith Sisson, who died at the" hospital on Saturday afternoon after an alleged assault by Yandall. Sisson, who was a single man, aged 35. was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries, and lie died at 5.30 p.m. In Court to-dav. Sergeant Doyle said it was not known yet whether Sisson died as the result of a blow alleged to have been given by accused, or from head injuries received when' he fell on the footpath. Dir Hardie Boys, applying for bail, said Yandall was a seamrn, and had never been in trouble before. Ho endeavoured to assist the barman of the City Hotel when some trouble developed, and . the man who died fell on Hie footpath outside the hotel. Sergeant Doyle said it was alleged that Yandall assaulted the man without provocation. Bail was allowed in £l5O with a surety of that amount, accused to report daily to the police.
