For the first time for some years, a triple birth occurred at the> Auckland Hospital when two boys and a girl were born to a patient, Mrs It. Blake, of Green Lane. The condition of mother and infants was reported to be satisfactory, and it is expected that the babies will be transferred to the Karitane Hospital at Mount Albert, 'i he first child was born at 6.30 p.m., the second an hour and a-half later and the third at nine,' o’clock. British Empire medical statistics show that triplets occur only once in 6000 cases, and the last recorded occasion in Auckland was on December 23, 1935, when three baby girls were born to a patient in the Salration Army Maternity Home. The King’s Bounty of three guineas is payable to the parents of triplets.
