“DAREDEVIL DRIVERS.’*

Boasting of no less than fifteen automobile crack-ups in its various scenes, “The Daredevil Drivers,’’ is a Warnei Bros, melodrama, screening at the Princess Theatre to-night, it is the story of a bitter rivalry existing between two Inis companies one of them headed by a girl, Beverley Roberts, and the other by Gordon Oliver. According to advance notices from the producers, eleven passenger cars and lour buses were smashed in the war of the roadways. The picture was directed by “Breezy’’ Eason -.'from a screen play by Sherman Lowe, made from a' story by Charles It. Condon. It has all the speed which marks Eason’s work. It. was he, for example, who made the “charge” of the Gallant COO in the “Charge of the Light Brigade ” Leading man for Miss Roberts in “The Daredevil Drivers’’ is Dick PurcelL an automobile racer who comes to her rescue when he finds that her own employees, being paid by the opposition bus line, are double-crossing her. Other well-known players in the cast include Gloria Blondell, Charley Foy, Willard Parker and Donald Briggs. RECENT THEATRE. The 20th Century-Fox mystery thrill-er-farce, "One Wild Night," proved a real surprise to .the studio’s wardrobe department, * which thought it could sit back and' take it easy between work on the complete epiV "In Old Chicago,’’ and Irving Berlin’s "Alexander’s Dagtime Band.” Sequences in an abandonee old mill in the film turned out to.be a wardrobe man’s nightmare when 22 changes of clothing were requited .for Julie Hang, Dick Baldwin, Lyle Talbot, J. Edward Bromberg and Sidney Toler, featured in tile cast. Opening to-mor-row at the Regent Theatre ) "One Wild Night” was directed by Eugene Fordo, with John Stone associate producer.
