The strength and unity of Germany, 'was' the theme of Hitler’s May Hay speech ta aT.monster demonstration of "one hundred thousand" Nazi youth at the Olympic Stadium. Hitler said the Nazis put the spade beside the rifle and ennobled it, like the sword. They had revolutionised other 1 theories in the past six years. There was no longer any money , problem. The only problem was production. To those anxious that their song should follow intellectual activities, he said —“If any of your youngsters worked in the west with spades, for the security of Geimany, they have done more than you in your whole lifetime ” , “Goods must not be stored up_ but be consumed. Living room must decide the standard of-life. Such problems can be be solved only by a single will, and cen. trally directed programme. I can give you nothing you don’t give me. Whether we win or perish, we must be united for better or worse;/What can we expect from the encircling politicians, but a war mongering policy. We must unitedly fact*, external dangers. I am a lover of peace. That is the difference between me and those stirring up war. Gutter journalists are a Special kind of brain parasites who know what is happening in my head.” “The latest lie is that twenty thousand Germans landed at Morocco. These people are driving the nations to disaster, I rely on the German people. The League of Nations guarantee is all very well, but the fortification of German frontiers is better. Probably the strongest senatorial statement was Senator Logans, viz: “The speech can be divided into three parts—lies, evasions, and alibis.”.
