AUCKLAND, February 13
Before the ordinary business at a luncheon meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club, the New Zealand District Governor,, (Mr G. W. Hutchison), paid a tribute to the memory of Pope Pius XI., and at his suggestion members stood in silence for a few moments. as a mark of respect and sympathy.

The “GazettP Del Popolo” says that a non-Italian Pope is impossible, owing to the prevailing international tension, though it admits that the influence of the foreign Cardinals will Vie stronger than ever before. It declares that the Conclave will choose a church man, not a diplomat.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS.

There has been no change in the arrangemenls for the funeral of Pope Pius XI. to-day.
