EMPIRE iFLYING iOAT. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) DARWIN, December 13. The Empire flying-boat, Coorang, which arrived last evening fromKoepang with three tons of Christmas mail, was swept ashore and wrecked by an eighty mile an hour ; gale ) which swept across Darwin harbour late lastnight. Mechanics and townspeople worked heroically as the Coorang pounded on the rocks, and were able to save every bag of mail, but it is doubtful, whether the dying-boat, which is yalued at £60,000, can be salvaged.
