HUS RAND OF MAORI WOMAN

GISBORNE, December 13

Following her death in Te Ruin hospital on Saturday of a 32-year-old Maori woman. Materkina Grace, of 'l'llparoa, her husband Dave Grace, 42, also a Maori, was arrested this morning and charged with the murder of his wife. He appeared subsequently before the Court at Ruatoria and on the apprfeatioii of the police was remainletl. Mrs Grace, was admitted the hospital on Thursday night in an unconscious condition resulting I t'oin injuries when are understood to include a Iraeture ol the skull. She never recovered consciousness and succumbed early on Saturday morning. No information is available regarding events leading to the incident, in which the woman received the injuries.
