MR SAVAGE’S ADVICE. (Per Press Association-Copyright). WELLINGTON, June 22. The alleged exposure of the reason for the “whispering campaign ’ against New Zealand in London made by an Australian newspaper was described by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Eon. M. J. Savage) as a fairly correct statement of the position. “Hut- you have not got to go- to London for a whispering campaign,” he added. “You can find it in Australia. Some Australian politicians and economists seem to he more concerned about New Zealand affairs than about Australian. My advice to them is to mind their own business for a few moments. I can hardly find myself going to Australia and advising the Australians what they should do. “1 have already refused to do that, he said. “Tt was during the recent election campaign* there. I sometimes wonder whether 1 was right in that attitude in view of the actions of some people there. All the saute, it is not right to blame the Government for some of the stupid utterances of some of its supporters. This is quite clear to me. “We are going ahead hv leaps and bounds.” Mr Savage said. “New Zealand will pay her way at home and abroad. I don’t know how much more anyone can expect.”
