Apart from the Government Court (130,000 square feet), the; total floor space in the Exhibitipn blocks was 420,212 square feet’ (comprising 1 170,961 square ;feet of; passages ..and 249,251 square feet available for sale) The booking progress was regarded as satisfactory at this stage, . , PROVINCIAL COURTS. It is expected that the prospect of a large influx of • visitors from' overseas during the Exhibition will, induce the f>Vrrr}\] of : Provincial Courts to have impressively spectacular displays. The report of Mr Charles Todd to the direr--tors on the visit of Mr ,J. I*. PLANNING FOR ACCOMMODATION. ■' Faced with the ‘prospect of a. very large number of visitors to Wellington during tile. Exhibition, the directors arc taking every possible precaution to ensure satisfactory accommodation'. They havo the* active. co-oPeratlon of the City Council’s 7 Housing Committee oi public and private hotels, and boarding bouses are being asked to state the extent of their present accommodation and whether they can supplement it 'with suitable annexes. (Private citizens are also being asked whether they will be able to take paying guests in their homes.
