OBITUARY

The death occurred at the Christchurch Hospital yesterday of Mr William Fitzgerald, of vAiiistcmucn, and formerly a well-known and esteemed resident of Ikamatua, of which locality he was a native. 11c left there for Canterbury about ten years ago. tie was the youngest s-n „i ikamatua pioneer residents, Mr and Mrs John Fitzgerald, and was 47 years of age. Deceased, who was unmarried, was a member of the staff of Keiupthorue, Prosser and Co., tied had been ailing only for about a week, having taken ill suddenly whilst .ueturning home from work. He leaves four brothers, Thomas and John (Ikamatna), Michael (Welieka) and James (Waiuta), while there are two . sisters, Mesdames D. Shannahaii and F. Grogan (Greymouth). The sympathy of many friends will be extended to the relatives in their breavement.
