DU TOIT NOT TO PLAY
AUCKLAND, September 24
Enthusiasm for the final Test is already at a high pitch. The incoming tide of visitors commenced to flow this morning and it is expected it will In* tho biggest crowd ever to watch a football match in New Zealand.
Public opinion widely is divided as to the outcome some believing that the brilliant victories of the Springboks will be repeated, while others are confident that the All Blacks can repeat their great victory of the first Test.
The All Blacks wore driven to AA’aitakere ranges this morning, -for an all day picnic. Before leaving, they called at Takapuna Grammar School and requested a half-holiday to-day, and the request was granted.
Tho Springboks are spending the day quietly strobing round the city or motoring. Misfortune appears to be facing the Springboks. Du Toifc the brilliant loose forward, found to-dav that
a. new leg injure was more serious than he had thought and it is un-der-stood lie will not play to-morrow. J. White the sheet-anchor of the backline- is also unlikely to play, because lie pulled a leg muscle. The team will probably be the, same as the second test, with Berg as eighth man. Elaborate arrangements
have been math* for the control of traffic to-morrow. Representatives of ta.xT companies conferred with the General Manager of Railways, Air Mackley this morning. It was later announced that flic combined fleets would be under control of a special traffic officer at the railway station.
