ITALIAN ARRESTED

SOVIET GTIU.'S CHAKGE WARSAW, September 20. Betrayed by a beautiful Russian girl. Signor Patroni, 35. an Italian engineer, has been arrested at Leningrad, with 10 Russian friends. Patroni. who is an expert on aero engines, is accused ot inlorming the Spanish rebels and the Italian Government of the movements of ships leaving Odessa. Officials of the O.G.P.U. (Soviet secret police) say that the information was given to Patroni by an officer in the Soviet merchant marine, who has also been arrested.

Patroni has lived in Russia for ten years, and is married to a Russian woman. The girl who betrayed him. and whom he regarded as his best frienc?. is known as “Regina.” and is one of th(> most trusted'agents of the O.G.P. U.
