Early developments are imminent in connection with the Meditenauean anti-pirae.v police scheme, on lines for which the. British and French Governments have consistently winked. Count Ciano recently asked the British and French Charges d’Affaircs to call upon him. It is understood that Ciaaio verbally (indicated that Italy was anxious to co-operate in the naval pjtrol scheme, and ‘that 'the reservations which the Italian Government entertained were further clarified. The British and French Governments have now suggested a meeting of technical experts in Paris as an early date, to discuss possible modifications of the patrol scheme which might be commended in event of the participation of the Italian naval contingent.
