* PURCHASE OF BUSINESSES. (Per Press Association— Copyright,'. AUCKLAND, September 17. Claims of goods road transport companies operating from Auckland whose businesses are to be acquired by the State, were considered this morning by a special commission appointed by the Government to determine fair conditions of purchase. It was the hrst sitting of tribunal, and is expected to last until Tuesday. Five companies whose claims are beinc considered found direct offers for purchase unacceptable, preferring to Pave their eases considered by tribunal. No decision will be announced, the tribunal making its recommendation direct to the Government. Sir Precis Frazer (Chairman), with him S. S. Alillimrton (Controller of Stores for Railway Department, nppointed hy Government), and L. H. Heslop (accountant of Wellington, nominated hy transport operators).
