MURDER CHARGE

HUSBAND SHOOTS WIFE. AND ATTEMPTS SUICIDE. (Per Press Association —Copyright), DUNEDIN, September 15. Over eight weeks after he was admitted to hospital with a severe gunshot wound in the chest, Arthur Richardson was to-day formally charged with the murder of his wife, Jessie Richardson, at Otokia. Deceased was in a room at the homo of her married daughter nvlien she was fatally shot in the abdomen. Richardson, whose home is at Berwick, was found at (Otokia with a severe wound in his chest, he having turned a double-barrelled gnu on himself. He has made an excellent recovery. The charge was read to Richardson who fs still a patient at the hospital, by Detective-Sergeant Hall. Accused will appear at the Police Court next Wednesday.
