GIFT TO KING AND QUEEN (Per Press Association—Copyright). WELLINGTON, September 15. Knowing that the King and Queen are keenly interested in horticulture. Lord Galway recently arranged for a. shipment collected at Christchurch and Dunedin to he consigned for the plantation garden at Windsor Castle. The plants included varieties oi veronica, claUa, cehnesias, ranunculus, cushion and high alpine plants, one ground orchid and many other rare specimens, some of which were not previously in cultivation in England. As is usual now, in sending rare plants abroad, special cases fitted with gauze windows wore used for the packiim. These we*’e carried in the ship’s vegetable chamber,- which is always kept at a constant temperature. The plants arrived safely ant. Tn good condition. The private secretary to the King has written to express His Majesty’s appreciation for the gift and thanks for the trouble which had been taken-
