EXPLOSION ON SHIP
SYDNEY STAR BERTHS. ENGINEER AND SIX GREASERS BURNED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10.0 a.m.) LONDON, September 14. The Sydney Star has berthed in the Thames. The third engineer, Thomas Kenyon was admitted to hospital with severe burns. Six greasers were slightly burned. The explosion shook the ship and blew one man ten feet into the air. Some of the crew first thought the vessel had been torpedoed. It took an hour to subdue the fire.
