IRELAND DEFEATED. AN INNINGS VICTORY. ("From the Special Correspondent of the United Press Association with th<* Team). (Received this day at 11 a.m.) DUBLIN, September 14. New Zealand had little trouble fn winning by an innings after they had batted for another half hour. Ireland scored steadily till lunch. Shea re scored at a run a minute, hitting six fours and one six. After lunch the innings was almost a procession, before the good bowling of Gallichan, Moloney, and Carson.
Ireland’s second innings lasted less than two hours, the last five wickets falling for only twelve runs. The batsr men were cpiite unable to handle Weir and Gallichan, and the bowlers were supported by keen fielding throughout, fourteen catches being taken in the two innings, including four -at short leg by Lowry. New Zealand in the first innings scored 266 (Page 54, Roberts 53). Ireland, first innings 160. Bowling: Lowry 1 for 36, Lamason 1 for 32, Gallichan 3 Tor 15, Donnelly 1 for 9, Carson 2 for 14, Moloney 2 for 27. Ireland followed on, scoring 75. (AVeir 5 for 17, Gallichan 5 for 16. New Zealand won by an innings and fifty-two runs.
