WEDDING

PIERSON—MAUNDER. A very pretty: wedding of local interest was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Church, Hokitika, last evening, of Phyllis Joan (Phil), youngest daughter of Airs J. Maunder, of Rolleston Street, to Albert Ernest Frederic (Fred), youngest son of Air and .Mrs Charles Pierson of Kumara. The Rev. Murray Feist, performed the ceremony. Air Bob. Tennent played the wedding music. The chui ch was prettily decorated with spring flowers by Mesdames S. J. Preston and Jack Gutberlet.

Mr George Maunder escorted his. sister, who wore a, maroon crepe satin frock made on slimming lines, the bodice having long fitting sleeves and high neck line, finished with spray to match her hat of cream straw. She carried a . beautiful bouquet of hyacinths. The bridesmaid, Miss Kay Warren, wore a frock of green crepe satin madq on similar lines with halo hat of cream, satin, and carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers.

Mr Les. Chapman, of Ikamatua, was best man.

A reception wa s held at Preston’s where Mrs Maunder, assisted by Mrs C. Pierson, mother of the bridegroom,, received the guests. Mrs Maunder wore an ensemble of black and white morocain with hat to match, she also carried a bouquet of autumn tinted marigolds. Mrs Pierson wore a navy suit with hat to match and carried a pretty bouquet. A feature of the wedding breakfast was the beautiful cake presented by Mrs J. Preston. The bride and bridegroom lgter left on an extended motor tour of thot South Island. The bride travelled in a blue morocain frock, tweed coat finished with fox fur and hat to match. Mr and Airs Fred Pierson will make their future home at Ross.
