Albeit William Alurdoch, whose home is near the Police Station, received a bullet wound about 6.30 a.m. from a .22 rifle, which had been left loaded in the washhouse. Alurdoch was operated on at the hospital, and this evening his condition is reported to be serious. His wife, Ellen Anne Alurdoch. was arrested, and appeared before Alessrs O. Kellv and AV. H. Amos. Justices of the Peace, at a sitting of the Alaeistrate’s Court, charged with assaulting Albert WiHiam Alurdoch, so as to cause actual bodily barm. On the application of .Sergeant J. J l '. Cloarv. the accused was remanded to September 20. She was released on bail, which was fixed at tlo n . She was ordered to report to the police daily.
