OBITUARY
The death took place at the Westland Hospital this morning at 6 o’clock or David, the fifteen year old son of Mr and Mrs George Spence, well known residents of Koiterangi. The lad, who was a native of Koiterangi, was admit-' ted to Westland Hospital yesterday afternoon in a \ cry seriously ill condition, the symptoms pointing to infantile paralysis He showed no improvement as the night wore on and died this morning. The nature of the illness has not yet been finally diagnosed, a report being awaited of a blood test from the laboratory. The circumstances are particularly, sad as both parents, .are out of New Zealand at present, Mr George Spence having gone to Sydney to meet his wifu, who, is, returning from a visit to England for the Coronation. SCHOOL INSPECTOR. v Por Press Association —Copyright) NELSON, June 10. Mr H. C. N. Watson, senior inspector of the Nelson Education Board died suddenly at Motueka this morning. Mr Watson, in company with another inspector was on his way to Takaka when, feeling unwell, he went into a shop, where he died. Watson was aged 55. f He was .formerly headmaster of the' Westport School, and came to Nelson from Wellington, early this year.
