The American millionaire, Mr Franklyn Hutton, father of the Countess Reventlow (formerly Miss Barbara Hutton) has reported the disappearance of a jewelled scarf-pin and cuff links, the total value of which is variously estimated at between 23,000 and 75,000 dollars.
Mr Hutton was giving a large house party on his ranch, at which the film star, Miss Joan Crawford, was a guest. Intimate friends of Mr Hutton express the belief that he has merely mislaid the articles, as he lias done in the past
