Iti the Utilise of Commons, Sir Samuel Hoare in reference to the dockyard dismissals issued a statement of cases of subversive activities reported in the autumn. They were impartially investigated and 'resulted in a unanimous conclusion that five men no longer could be employed. The spirit of the great majority of dockyard workers excellent. Cases of disloyalty are altogether exceptional. \ The Hon Atlee said the reply was unsatisfactory. He ’would raise the matter at the earliest possible moment. Mr Try on informed Mr Thurtle that he understood when the head of a church was broadcasting a service, it was not the practice of the 8.8. C. to ask for the text of the address to be submitted beforehand. Mr Thurtle—Will you represent to theB.B.C. that it was altogether deplorable that the broadcast on an occasion of this kind, was used for an outburst. Cries of “order” made the remainder of the sentence inaudible. Mr Speaker— The Member seems to be giving an opinion on the matter.
