WEATHER’S PROMINENT PART

MELBOURNE, Nov. 11

(Rain upset the scheme of four armed and. masked bandits this afternoon to hold : |ip a man with a Footscray Factory’s £3OO payroll. Because of rain, the driver of the payroll car, Mr P. N. Burnett, did not stop at the office door, hut drove into the factory yard. . Three of the bandits leapt from their car and chased him. Employees saw what was occurring, and shouted to Mr Murnett, who disappeared'through the doorway just in time to escape. The bandits raced back to their car and drove off.
