BUNGALOW FAIR

METHODIST CHURCH FUNCTION

Successful results attended the bungalow fair held in St. Andrew s Hall yesterday afternoon and evening in aid’of the Methodist Church. The novelty of the arrangements .attracted large attendances and good clearances were affected by the various stalls.

The hall was arranged to represent a six, -roomed house, comprising, drawing, dining, bath and bedrooms, kitchen and pantry, and each was furnished with its own characteristic appointments. A really excellent display was presented. During the afternoon several competitions were held, while afternoon tea. was expensed in the “drawing-room.” Sweets, cakes, and produce met with a ready sale, while all the furnishings were sold except a few of the larger articles which had been lent for "the occasion. Those who assisted at the stalls were Mesdames Allon Carr, Oliver, F. W. Ashley, Lovther. George Perry, H. Lawn, S. King, W. Bone G. Gilchrist, T. W. Duft. Eggeling’ Mycroft and W. Perry, and Misses E. Perry, L. Berendt, Lawrence, A. and R- Lawn and L(jookB • There was another good attendance in the evening when the fair was continued. Further competitions were held, while an apron parade was conducted, creating much interest. The first prize was awarded tor the apron worn by Mrs P. Goodlellown At the conclusion, the remainder o the goods and articles were auctioned by Mr Fried lander. . , ‘ From 6 to 7 p.m. the children hao a marvellous time when /ather Christmas was present, and he created quite a lot of inteicst. A welt-lad-en Christmas tree occupied attention and well over one hundred gilts were distributed among the juveniles The time passed very quickly. In the Methodist Hall in the evening., elocutionary, vpcal an dancing competitions wer e held, and were much appreciated, the results being as follows: Elocution—Under 10, Edie -Jones 1: 10 years and over, Joy Goodiellow 1 Shirley Andrews 2.
