LONDON, November 5

Owing to the King George’s memorial fund, which it was hoped would reach £750,000 so far being only £134,267, it has been decided to modify the original scheme to erect an Empire memorial on a site adjoining Westminister Abbey facing Parliament, for which five buildings will he demolished, revealing new vistas of the Abbey and ancient jewel house.

The scheme will cost more than £125,000 including a. statue. The ;remainder will be .spent on playing fields. The fund will remain open until January 20.
