PRINCESS THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. TO-NIGHT. “LETTING IN THE SUNSHINE.” j At the Princess Theatre the British Empire HiUns will present the musical comedy “Letting in the Sunshine”. Albert Burdon will head the caste. The supporting programme will include Lincsound news, two reel'vaudeville, etc. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. DOUBLE STAR PROGARMME. The first picture “Friends of Mr Sweeney,” the feature attraction to , ’ open at the Princess Theatre'on Fri- ‘ day, is li rollickifig Warner Bros, comedy based on the hilarious novel by Elmer Davis, Who has taken the principal character as a “timid” soul soft of person who is inspired by love, liquor and an Old college pal to become a raging lion. Cliarlie Ruggles in the role, blossoms out in fa night as a big time sport and the terror of a band of crook's in' some of the most vidiculohsly funny Situations imaginable. It is a picture filled with thrills that 'is said to wind up in a smashing climax, in which Ruggles not only catche s the bad men, but forces his boss, to whom he had always been obsequious, to give him the run of his business. Ann Dvorak supplies the love interest as Ruggles’ secretary who eggs him on to be a real devil of a fellow. Eugene Pallette, Dorothy Burgess, Robert Barrat, feerton Churchill support a strong cast. « The second picture by Warner Bros, and British production is “13th Candle”. The leading characters are played .by Isobel Elsom and Claude Fleming, and are supported by a strong cast. I - REGENT THEATRE. TO-NIGHT AND FRIDAY. “PADDY O’DAY. ’» No less than five songwriters were put to work on the Fox picture, “Pad-, dy -O Day.”, which comes to-night to _< the Regent Theatre, to turn out a brace of new tunes for lovable Jane Withers mid her stellar supporting cfasl: to sing in this amazing' picture of a little colleen’s adventures jn New York.
