GRUELLING TEST IN RUSSIA. '? 6,200 MILES BY MOTOR-CAR. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—copyright) (Received this day at 1.10 p.m.) MOSCOW, October 6. ‘ Forty-five women have just completed a gruelling two months’ automobile expedition across Soviet Russia, designed to test their stamina. The v covered 6.263 miles in fortyfive days actual driving. ’The cars were manufactured in Russia and averaged 139 miles a day. ... The road was through the seven republics of the Soviet Union. Every type of weather - was experienced, and the 'expedition traversed camel trails in Kazakstan, footpaths and salt marshes in Little Karakum, and mountain ridges in Urals.
