FIREMEN TRAPPED IN FLAMES (Australian Press Association). /(Received this SYDNEY, July 21. Six iirenlen, including the deputy chief officer, W. Beare, were, trapped in flames on the top floor of the five storeyed building in Surrey Hills, occupied by the Commonwealth Drug 'Company, where‘a'serious fire raged. The firemen had to fight for their 'lives against the' flames and deadly ; carbon monoxide fumes until comrades came to their aid. Five members' pf the brigade were severely burned when two drums of oil exploded and- sprayed them. •» The damage to the building and stock amounts to £IOOO.
