WESTLAND COUNTY SATURDAY, JULY 18. The Executive met at 7.30 p.m. Present: Messrs J. A. Murdoch, A. Dale, T. R. Chesterman and W. A. Jamieson. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE From Department of Labour, acknowledging receipt of minutes ol meeting on the 4th instant and noting with satisfaction the value of gold won by prospectors to date. —Received. From same, approving of youths’ subsidy to D. Nolan of Wataroa. Received. From same, approving of special rates to E. Dale and D. Feeney.—Received. E. A. Dale to revert to ordinary rates. From same, acknowledging receipt of report on operations of Barrowman and Rees and asking that in future same be forwarded in triplicate. Received and attended to. From same, approving of a grant to Pierson and Davis of Ross for equipment to the value of £43, setting out the terms for repayment of account. Received, clerk to attend From S. W. Strong, forwarding detailed proposals for drainage scheme at Lawyers Paradise together with a detailed plan.—Received. Certain conditions of control were suggested for consideration. From J. D. McQuilkin, stating, than it was likely he would be working in the Grey County for some considerable time and thanking the Committee for consideration in the past.—Received. From Brace and Adamson replying to letter of the 25 ultimo and reporting on prospecting operations at Sebastapole Gully.—Received, restricted renewal approved, further imormation to be supplied. From supervisor Moore further reporting on prospecting operations of Brace and Adamson.—Received. From supervisor Moore, reporting on prospecting operations of A. E. Biddington, Callaghans, whose application has been held over from last meeting for further consideration. —Received, application for present location refused. From A. E. Thorpe and party, Woodstock. notifying that they were now in a position to carry on at the ordinary subsidy rate and thanking the Committee for past assistance.—Received and noted with satisfaction. From the Manager, State Insurance Company, Wellington, enquiring regarding an . accident to W. Dunshea working under the Boss committee who met with an accident on the 13tli of Februarv. —Received, information to be supplied.
