SHEIK HONOURED
—- A KNIGHT COMMANDER. RUGBY, June 14. The Sheik of the Bahrein Islands, a group of islands in the Persian Gull, which are under British protection, accompanied by his two sons, will an ive in' England to-morrow. For a fortnight' he will be the guest of the British’‘Government. During this time lie will he invest d by the King with the insignia of Knight Commander of the Indian Empire, an honour which was conferred'upon him in 1935. The Sheik, who has been the ruler ol the Bahrein Islands since 1923, visited England unofficially in 1925. He will : meet the Secretary of State for India (the Marquess of Zetland) at the India Office on Monday, and during his stay he will pay visits to the fleet at .Portsmouth, to the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, to the Royal Air'
Force display at llendon and to tlm Aldershot Tattoo. In addition, t.e will attend the Trooping of the Colour on June ‘23. Arrangements have also been made for him to see over the liner Queen Mary.
