CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON NUMEROUS REMITS CONSIDERED (Per Press Asr'xdatxon.— Copyright.) WELLINGTON, July 10. With the exception of Nelson, all trotting clubs were represented at the New Zealand Trotting Conference. The statement of receipts and payments showed the balance of receipts £823 2s Ud. Mr H. F. Nicoll delivered the presidential address and was given a vote of thanks.

The Hon. W. Perry and Messrs Ollivcr and Morpeth were re-elected to the exeeutice. Mr F. E. Graham was appointed treasurer of the conference, and the executive was appointed a dates committee.

Totalisator licenses were granted as in July last, with the exception of the Northland Club, now defunct, whose license is to be treated as a floating license, and to be used by the Waikato iTub in the 1935-36 season. A motion leagalising matinee racing was adopted. A remit was carried providing that any club, which has hot hold a meeting for a space of a racing season shall, cease to be registered, and if such club desires to be re-registered, application for re-registration is to be sent to the Association, accompanied by two guineas fee. An Auckland remit, to deal with Rule 107, was withdrawn after discussion.

An amendment was made to Rule 115 to provide for each race to be commenced. leaving an interval of not more than 35 minutes between each race, except tnat in one case only, on any one day the interval may be 30 minutes.

It was decided the Association may, without ‘assigning any reason, refuse to grant an application for a license, or may suspend or cancel any license already granted, and shall not , e in any way responsible or liable in damages by reason of such refusal, suspension, or cancellation. Approval was given to a new rule submitted by the Association, providing '(a) that any owner or trainer, starting in a race a horse that is known to him to be in indifferent health, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £lO, or may be suspended or disqualified for such period as may be thougnt tit- and (b) that any horse which, in the opinion of a stipendary steward, i-> unfit to race shall not be eligible to start in any race. , _

It was decided to add to Ride 470 a provision for the licensing of starters.
