MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND UNEMPLOYMENT ARRIVING .NEXT

WEEK

Advice lias been received of the intended visit of Hon. S. G. Smith, Minister of Education and Unemployment. Air Smith is Chairman, also, of the Unemployment Board, and he will be accompanied bv Air Bromley, Deputy Chairman of the Hoard. The Alinisterial party will arrive here on Thursday evening, and after attending to some business affecting education matters, the Humphrey's water race scheme will he inspected, and the Westland Alining Executive will be met at the County Chambers in the evening. An invitation has been extended to the party to attend the opening day of the Westland Racing Club meeting on Saturday, prior to the departure to South Westland on department business. The party will return to Greymouth on Tuesday.
