A FRENCH DEMONSTRATION

(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)

PARIS, January 12,

Ten thousand unemployed hungermarchers, despite Government’s prohibition of a demonstration which communists organised, attempted to march to the Chambers of Deputies resulting in a scuffle with the police, wherein thirty arrests were made. The police permitted three separate meetings, whereafter a deputation was allowed to proceed to the Chambers to hand in written demands for bread and work.
