AMERICANS’ DAZZLING DISPLAY

SYDNEY, November 9.

Showing remarkable accuracy m a high wind, the American professional golfers won three foursomes against Australia at the Lakes course to-day. The results were:—

'Laffoon and Wood (U,S.A.) defeated W; Ilolger and Spence (Australia) 5 and 4.

Runyan and Cooper (U.S.A.) defeated Stewart and V. Richardson (Australia) 6 and 5. Shute and Diegal (U.S.A.) defeated Naismith and Cohen (Australia) 7 and 6.

The Americans, who outclassed their opponents, were rarely off the fairway, and they covered the pin with their seconds. Laffoon and - Wood played dazzling golf. The singles will be played to-morrow.
