i ■i—* EVERYBODY’S PICTURES “UP TO THE NECK.” Ben Travers, author of “Up to the Neck,” does not believe in selling a story and then forgetting about it. His contention is that any author whose . work is being translated to the screen 1 should follow the subject on to the studio floor and watch it through all stages of production. This practice is already mouh in vogue at the British and Dominions Studios, where Herbert Wilcox, Director of Production, eii- ! courages authors to stand by during* shootings, to bo consulted on last-min-ute changes of action or dialogue. In the case of “Up to the neck,” for example, Ben Trovers wrote everything, from tbe original short synopsis to the complete shooting script—dialogue, action, screen treatment, all came form’ tho fertile JTravcfrs’ pen—and with what results may be gathered from listening to any audience’s reaction to the finished article as it has been brought to the screen by Jack Raymond and Ralph. Lynn. “Up to the Neck” is to be presented at the Princess Theatre to-night. It is a booking on which the management deserves congratulations. Also showing news and Musical short.
