WAIPUKURAU, August 6

The Waipukurau County Council passed the following resolution on Saturday: “That this Council, repre- , Tenting the ratepayers and woolgrowers of the Waipukurau County, omphaltically protests' tagainlst any further commitment of. the farming industry in tho shape of a levy on wool With the obscured outlook on overseas markets, the time is inopportune for experiments, or further loading of an '.already overburdened .and overtaxed industry for a purpose which wo, as woolgrowers, consider will bring about no -satisfactory results.” The councillors were uni.inimous in t-lroir - condemnation of the proposed lew of 4d,T)er bale for; the purpose of scientific research. The chairman, Mr A. C. Russell, said that the Prime Minister was tnring to bludgeon the bill through rather prematurely.
