A orowcl of ten thousand people, who were not enthusiastic over the play, saw the New Zealand rugby, team today defeat New South Wales by 16 points to 13. it was a poor exhibition of the gam®, which was marred by weak passing on. both sides. The New Zealand forwards were primarily responsible for the win of the All Blacks, but they were not impressive as a .pack. . The referee, however, impartially penalised every Indoor infringement, thus slowing up the’ game so much that the crowd protested against it 'Occasionally New 'South Wales 'had th© territorial' advantage during - the greater put of the first half, which was scoreless, although the New Zealand forwards were superior in hooking and m the lineouvrs. Only '\at times , did khe play rise above the; provincial.'standard. Nearly all of the scores came from opponents’ j'mfistjakes; n Lambpurne.j - proved btinsel-f----as an AM Black hooker, though without displaying Hadley’s unoanny . abiL, My. Barry and Mat-air a did good work in the open. Ilor© was a good all-round forward.
Corner was sound at half, arid Smith was a fast and strong defensive back.
