Westland ,sub-union meeting

The Westland Rugby Sub-Union' met ■last evening when there were present Messrs J. C. Stafford (president), F. McGregor, Ogilvie, W) H. Reeves, D. Breeze, A. Cutbush, At Thompson, J. L. Menzieg and E. W. Keenan. It was decided thlat the senior fixtures for the Ford Cup commence on (August 18.

The chairman reported on an interview he had had with members of 'the West Coast Rugby Union regarding the playing of * ’ Westland v. Grey junior representative match as la curtain raiser to a shield fixture, and at his suggestion it was decided that the Coast Union .be asked to allot this

game for August 25. It :wlas decided that a letter of sympathy in his illness be sent to Mr A. A. A<lams, president of the Coast Union.

It was also agreed to send a letter of sympathy to A. Hondry, who w-as injured in the Coast v. Bush match. Members exjp-etssed appreciation at the manner in, which Mr Breeze controlled the Brunncr-Westland {match on Saturday- ’ :

The following are the matches for Saturday :—Juniors—Ross v. Excelsior, Cass Square Np. 1, 3 p.m. (J. Butland); Pirateg v. Rover, at Rimu (J. jMlqOteary); Kiwi W. Kokatahi, Cass Square, No. 2, 3 p.m. (D. Breeze).
