WESTLAND COUNTY. . MONDAY JUNE 25. The Executive sat at 8.25 p.m. Present: Messrs J. A. Murdoch (chairman), W. Jeffries, T. P. Chesterman, and M. Keenan. , 1 The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved. ’!■ Air O. Mills-waited on the Executive in respect to the clerk’s- report, and gave an explanation in respect to returns and workings. The report of the supervisor on a lute visit to the claim was read. Deliberating later, the meeting resolvel the subsidy be contin-/ ued: for two months, the' supervisor to inspect and report as to progress. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE From Unemployment Board, Wei-' lington ; asking if committee has any objection to granting of special claim to W. 0. Bierwirth in area set aside at Rcss.—Received, no objection.'; From Unemployment Board, stating that compass had been forwarded from Christchurch. —Received with thanks. From Unemployment Board, relative to matter of expenses of ' members of Alining Executive, stating that the Board could net see its way clear to meet such charge.—Received.

Mt Jeffries stated it was unfair to expect country representatives to -.attend meetings fortnightly at their own and he joined his resignation with .the members in question, as a protest: " The chairman J stated the resignations I '/would have.; to be dealt with by the. GENERAL Reports on Humphreys-Blue Spur workings were received from the engineer (Mr Strong), and Supervisors Cooper, McQuilkan and Harris. It was decided to send a copy of Mr Strong’s report to the Board. The gold wo n for tho past fortnight was reported at 21oz ldw.t 6grs. Accounts to the amount of £6 12s were recommended for payment. ; The Executive considered various accounts for equipment, and action proposed was approved. ~
