Claudio Mattabone was acquitted on a charge oi' the manslaughter of Edward Jordan at K'algoorlie in a fight which led to the goldfield riots, in which two men were killed, and three shot, and ra'any others injured, and in which the dani'age by burning and looting totalled over £70,000. Evidence, showed Mattabone and Jordan engaged in a fair fight, no weapons being used.
